A. Types of adverbs
1. Adverbs of manner
Adverbs of manner provide information on how someone does something.
Examples:
– I passed the exam easily.
– She sings beautifully.
2. Adverbs of Time
Adverbs of time provide information on when something happens.
Examples:
– We’ll let you know our decision next week.
– They went to the cinema last night.
3. Adverbs of Place
Adverbs of place provide information on where something happens.
Examples:
– She talks everywhere.
– Mary went to the United States.
4. Adverbs of Frequency
Adverbs of frequency provide information on how often something happens. They are Always, Normally, Usually, Frequently, Often, Sometimes, Occasionally, Rarely, Seldom, Hardly ever, Never,…etc.
Examples:
– They usually get to work at eight o’clock.
– Dara oftencomes to class late.
5. Adverbs of Degree or Quantity
Adverbs of degree provide information concerning how much or in what degree something is done.
Examples:
– They like playing golf a lot.
 He was too careless in his speech.
Here are some common adverbs of degree:
Full degree: completely, totally, absolutely, entirely
Large degree: very, extremely, really, awfully, terribly
Medium degree: rather, fairly, quite, pretty, somewhat
Small degree:   a little, a bit, slightly
Negation: hardly, scarcely, at all
6. Interrogative Adverbs
Interrogative adverbs are used to make question.
Examples:
– Where do you come from?
– Why are you late?

   7. Adverbs of Negation
Adverbs of negation are used to make the negative statements.
Examples:
– They do not know him.
– We never go to Kampong Cham.
